The Mystery of Hope and Time

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

Hope is a function of time.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."

A good understanding of the mystery of hope and what to do, helps you navigate through the process and its season. 1 Chronicles 12:32 "And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do. When you don’t know what to do, you get lost and frustrated in the process."

It is not enough to wait in hope, there is always what to do during the waiting season, just like the children of Issachar in 1 Chronicles 12:32. A wise man described it as a season of beholding. A time of beholding is when you prepare yourself for the hour/season when the desired victory and testimony will come.

Everyone who operates in the mystery of hope must understand that the process of hope is what initiates and takes them towards the realization of their desires in line with God’s will for them.(Hope: A defining moment for Turnaround).

How do you behold? Every man/woman has their season of appearing, but before that season comes, there is a need to prepare in prayer, and build capacity in God’s word that will help you navigate through that waiting time, which will also enable you to operate and manifest during your time of appearing. Romans 8:19 "For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God." The world is waiting for your appearance - how liberating! Mind you, this appearance will attract celebration or envy. The good news is: you don’t have to worry about who accepts you or not, because when it’s your time, God will make the arrangement for your peace. Proverbs 16:7 "When a man's ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." Therefore, please God with your preparation by being hopeful; for this is His will, and in so doing, you will have nothing to worry about. Hebrews 10:35-36 "Cast not away therefore your hope, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Patience, and doing His will guarantees your access to your realm of appearing."

Job understood the mystery of hope, reason why he remained steadfast for his desired change to come. Job 13:15 "Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face." I Corinthians15:58 "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm (hopeful). Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

Remember, the vision, testimony, and the season of appearance is for a time ahead of you, but you must remain hopeful in order to celebrate that victory. Romans 4:18-21 (Abraham) "Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform."

Finally, do not fret, or give up during the season of hope. This is the season to stand firm with every fiber of your being to remain hopeful like Abraham and other great men that engaged the mystery of hope, in order to have your own victory as well. John 8:39 "They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said unto them, if ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham."
